Gaudí Monuments

Palau Güell

The Palau Güell is a mansion in Barcelona . The home is centered on a main room for entertaining upper class guests. In 2004, visits by the public were completely suspended due to refurbishing. It’s part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was used in Antonioni's film The Passenger.

The Church of Colònia Güell

The Church of Colònia Güell, Antoni Gaudí's unfinished work, was built as a place of worship for the people in a factory suburb in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, near Barcelona .

Colònia Güell was the propriety of Count Eusebi de Güell. However, with Güell losing profits from his business, the money ran out and only the crypt was completed.

Casa Calvet

Casa Calvet is a building designed for a textile manufacturer which served as both a commercial property and as a residence. It is located at Eixample district of Barcelona.

Casa Batlló

It is a building built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1904–1906. It is located at Eixample district of Barcelona. Much of the façade is decorated with a mosaic made of broken ceramic tiles with blurred colors from orange to green.

Casa Vicents

In 1883 Gaudí began the “Casa Vicens” and he ended it in 1889. It was Gaudi's first important work. It is located in the Gràcia district, at carrer de les Carolines 24. It’s a family residence.

Gaudi and Modernism in Barcelona is a must, but don't forget we have many more artists and monuments to be proud of. Why don't you post something about them?

Gaudi and all those wonderful moments spent in Barcelona...
