Christmas Time

Dear bloggers, I would like to wish all of you WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

CAROLLERS 2009

A mathematician as a shepherd, English teachers as Joseph and Mary, a French teacher as a devil, Polish teachers as angels and a priest as a king - this is Christmas in our school.

This year, as usual, our teachers left their normal faces at home and arrived at school disguised as carollers and thus providing us, the students, with plenty of extremely positive energy for the forthcoming Christmas and, what's the most important, helping the former student of our school who suffered from an accident.

The performance turned out to be a total success. The teachers again showed their hidden talents in excellent acting and impressing singing. This, together with state-of-the-art outfits caused us incredible laughter and brought forward the fabulous atmosphere of Christmas time.

We have to admit that we are in awe of the way our teachers handled their really difficult task and we appreciate their involvement and dedication. Thanks to them, we raised over 7000 zł (about 1700 euro) which will certainly help our friend.

And now we're only looking forward to next year performance which will certainly keep us at the edge of our seats.

Finally, we would like to wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

" The four seasons: Winter(2) "

Christmas day

The Christmas day is an International religious celebration. As everywhere, we celebrate it on 25th of December, for Jesus birth. In the morning we open the presents and later we meet the family for lunch. We cook stuffed chicken, soup, crumbs…according to taste. We think that it’s a special day to spend with the family.

New Year’s Eve

We celebrate the New Year’s Eve on 31st of December.

We meet the family for dinner. At 23:59, the family is ready to eat twelve grapes together with the twelve strokes ot the clock(we watch the strokes on TV). After that we drink champagne and we start the New Year with the family and a party!

Emilia's profile

Hi, I'm very pleased that I finally joined this blog and have an opportunity to meet all of you. My name's Emily and I'm head over heels in love with contemporary dance, but at the parties I prefer a "square dance". This one move (made only with arms) goes with every types of music, requires very little space and isn't as tiring as it looks like. And makes people believe that you're a dancing queen. Late at night I'm a scribbler. I make up new words, because we don't have them enough. I'm keen on Eastern European culture and I listen to folk music. I'm delighted I have just started making new friends ;] (I look scared on the photo. That's because the walls were bringing closer, as they sometimes do)

My Pet

Last Saturday my dog joined my family. He is very little. He is a Yorkshire Mini. First day, he was very quiet and didn’t move, but the next day he played with me and my brother.

On Monday we went to the vet’s and the vet examined the dog. He was OK

If he does something well, we give him a prize.

His favourite toys are a little ball, a bone and his travell bag.

At night he cries on purpose because he listens when we move on the bed and he thinks that we are awake and he wants to play.

FC Barcelona- Real Madrid CF

Today I want to write about the match Barcelona-Madrid celebrated last 29th of November. In Spain the nickname of this match is “clásico”(“classical” in Spanish) and 1 million people watched it.

I’m a supporter of Barcelona and last Sunday I watched the match at home with my parents, my brother, my uncle and my cousin. Everybody in my family is a supporter of Barcelona but only my uncle, my cousin and I are the craziest supporters.

The match was very balances but Barcelona played better and won 1-0. The goal was by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, from a pass by Daniel Alves. I think that the best player in the match were Carles Puyol (captain of Barcelona) and Victor Valdés (goalkeeper of Barcelona)

CASTELLDEFELS

CASTELLDEFELS The town of Castelldefels is placed in the south of the area of the Baix Llobregat in Barcelona. It has a beach 5 kilometres long. The name comes from a castel on a hill nearby .It was built the year 1550.The reconstruction was done following the crieteria of neomedievalists, which granted its current aspect. Every summer I go there to my grandparents’ flat to spend a few days.. This is my favourite place because I go there since I was small and I have spent a few unforgettable moments with my family. I have differents activities like going to the pool and the beach . This is Castelldefels…

Cosculluela

Cosculluela is my favourite singer of rap and reggaeton.

Cosculluela was born and raised in Humacao (Puerto Rico).

Cosculluela began recording CDs with his brother Jaime and some friends.

His great inspiration was Mexicano 777, another famous singer.

Cosculluela made his first appearance in the CD The Bandoleros in 2005.

Then he started singing reggaeton.

He has rivalry with other singers as Ñengo flow, Gamsta, Temperamento and Arcangel.

Jose Cosculluela now says he’s preparing an important CD for his fans.

My holidays

Today I want to write about my summer holidays. In summer holidays I go to Creixell. Creixell is a little and modern town in Tarragona. When I stay in Creixell, my favourite activities are going to the beach and pool with my friends or going to the lighthouse by bike and eating chocolate crêpes at Torredembarra Port. At night, I like going to the park late with my friends. Creixell is the best place because I have so much. This year is the first that I have gone to this apartment, because in June my parents sold an apartment in Torredembarra, the town next to Creixell. But now I have more friends, and I love them :). Marcin's profile

Hello bloggers,
I have been here for quite a long time but I haven't introduced myself yet. Commenting on your posts and talking to you on the blog has mainly been my activity since it appeared on the net.
My name is Marcin Szmyt and I am a teacher of English from Olsztyn, Poland. Some of you may remember me since I took part in organizing a Comenius Project a few years ago together with Spanish teachers Pilar and Monica. This is when we met and since then we have been working with both Spanish and Polish students on different projects and now this blog. I really hope we can all still cooperate in the future.
The picture you can see was taken in Barceolna during one of Polish visits to this beautiful city. Hope to see you all in Barcelona again.

Dawid's Profile

Hi, I want to introduce myself .My name is Dawid. I'm 16. In September I have started new school-high school number 4 in Olsztyn. My hobbies ? I like meeting with friends, listening to the music or watching films. I'm a ,,child’’ of volleyball but not only team volleyball either beach volleyball. I have trained team volleyball for seven years , but trust me, now it is not only a hobby, I really love it. After a first training I was sure that volleyball is something I could not exist without . In Poland volleyball is incredibly popular. This year polish national team won European Championships in Turkey.

Team volleyball is not as dynamic and powerful as beach volleyball. Near my city every year is a great event- Beach Volleyball World Tour. Small village in Stare Jabłonki for one week change for center of world volleyball. But competition is not as fantastic as a atmosphere. On little beach you can see and feel real beauty of the sport. But don't trust me, come and see it.

" The four seasons: WINTER "

Celebrations
The Three Wise Men: one of the most important holidays is the Three Wise Men night. Fifth of January at night, the three Wise Men visit our house and they leave presents next to the slipper of every member of the family. We also leave them appetizers and drinks, though this is done when we are small children, because now we are old enough to know that the three Wise Men roles are performed by the parents! Next day, 6th in the morning we open the presents, up to midday when we prepare a meal with the family.
St Esteban: it’s a holiday that is celebrated in Catalonia. The family meet at midday for dinner. When they end, many families play cards, interactive games, table games, etc.
Gastronomy
Stew, shortcake doughs, nougat, marzipan, crumbs, fish soup, stuffed chicken, smoked salmon, etc.
Another special dish in Catalonia is " Calçots". It doesn't have translation in English.

My favourite place in Barcelona

My favourite place in Barcelona is Camp Nou. Camp Nou is FCBarcelona’s stadium, and it is the biggest of Europe (98771 seats). The meaning of Camp Nou is “New Field”. The inauguration was on 24th September of 1957.

The first match in Camp Nou was FC Barcelona-Warsaw selection(4-2)(24th September of 1957).

In Camp Nou there has been major events, for exemple, in 1992, the Olympic Games, in 1999 the final of the champions...

In Camp Nou sometimes there are concerts

Adress: Av.Artístides Maillol

Bus: Line 7, 15, 43, 67, 68, 74, 75, L12, L50, L60 & L62

Metro: Line 3 (get out at “Maria Cristina” or “Les Corts”) & line 5 (get out at “Collblanc” or “Badal”).

In the first picture you can see the Camp Nou during an important match, and in the second picture you can see a mosaic made by the spectators, in the picture you can see “Més que un club” and the meaning is “More than a club”

Camp Nou is my favourite place in Barcelona for two reasons:

1. Because FCBarcelona is my favourite team

2. Because the atmosphear is amazing. We sing, dance, shout at the referee, and chant the names of the bests player in the world (Messi, Ibrahimovic, Henry, Iniesta, Xavi…)

My best friend and me

I guess you all have a best friend or special friend. My best friend and I met at school, when I was 2 and a half years old and she was 3. We studied together up to the 6th grade but now, we are in different secondary schools. Al first, we got a bit distanced, though never lost the touch. Now all is genial and though she’s in another secondary school, that is not an inconvenience. We always stay together and I see her almost all days. When I’m sad or concerned, she helps and gives me advices, the same I do with her. For me she is not my best friend, she is like my second sister.

Laura's Profile

Hello everyone! Some of you know me, but not all of you. I participated in Comenius project and last year I participated in Polish Catalan Exchange. My name is Laura and I’m 16. I live in Barcelona, for me one of the most beautiful places, but my mother and my family are from Andalucia.

I’m so sociable, talkative, and funny, I think that I’m kind too. I want to have a good time with my friends and I love speak English. But not in me are good moments, I’m hard working and I’m a kind of person that likes to do works or jobs perfectly, this is why I’m so nervous, and sometimes I’m so stubborn and sensitive. If I’m sad or worry, you will see it, but don’t worry, I don’t usually get worry about stupid things, I’m always happy! I love music, music is a part of my live, my favorite band is Coldplay, I love their music it makes me feel good and relax. I love travelling too. Two years ago, I went to Oslztyn and I love it. I have good friends there that I want to see them soon. I think that travel is a good way to learn a language so I want to learn a lot of English, because in the future I want to be English teacher. Hope to see u :)
Kisses and Hugs!

My little place

We all have our little place to think, to relax, to remember. Here you have put some of them, and it’s time to show you my little place. One of my favourite places is Canet de mar, Canet de mar is near Mataró. I have a little house in canet de mar, near the beach and I love my house. When I’m angry or sad or I want to think, I go to the beach at night, and I hear the waves that it makes me feel so relax, in winter, when is so cold, I go to the beach with my blanket and I sit on the beach and I have time to think, to listen music , to see all clear. But in summer, I go with my friends to have a good time or once a year, all my friends and our parents, we do a big party. I think Canet de Mar is a good place to think and relax and a good place to have a good time.

The mural in Olsztyn

A few weeks ago, here in Olsztyn, happened something that we should be proud of. The first mural in our town is finally finished! A mural is a piece of artwork painted on a wall, ceiling, or other large permanent surface. This one in Olsztyn presents the most recognizable objects in our town, such as the townhall or the castle. I think it's a great way to promote the city. If more actions like that would start to happen, the town would become more attractive to visitors. Also young people would have a chance to prove their talents in public as Bartosz Świątecki and his crew did (they are authors of the mural). Someone may disagree but I think it's a great piece of art! I'm sure that murals are more popular in Barcelona or Istambul or other cities, but Olsztyn is not a very big and attractive one so things like that are quite unusual ;) Here's a link to the artist's blog if you would like to see more of his works ;) --> click!

My favourite place in Olsztyn

In my opinion there are many interesting places to vistit and to see in Olsztyn. We have many lakes in Olsztyn, but one of my favourite is Skanda lake. And it is also my favourite place. Skanda lake is located in suburbs of Olsztyn and it isn’t very big. There are two big beaches. At lake there is a small island and peninsula. Skanda lake is surrounded by forests and glades. In the summer Skanda is full of people. People from Olsztyn and neighborhood sunbathe or swim. I also like doing it with my friends. But if it isn’t hot it is very empty place. But I like this place even it is cold. Skanda lake is near my home – it is only about 25 minutes on foot (maybe it is the way that I like this lake not different in Olsztyn?). I like walking near water or in forests. Usually I take my friend with me, but sometimes I walk alone. Why it is my favourite place? Because it is a place where I can spend time with my friends or alone. It is also a place where I can go when I have got a bad day. Because it is always relax for me. And I just like it!
