My name is Feyza and I'm 16 years old.I'm a student in Körfez Atatürk Anatolian High School in İzmit.But,I live in Pendik in İstanbul.I and some of my friends go to our school by train.Although our school is a bit far from our house, we love our school and our teachers very much.They're really great!Because they're understanding.

I am adventurous,honest,extrovert and considerate person but I'm sometimes stubburn,selfish. When I'm selfish my friends get annoyed me...

I like reading adventure novels,playing the piano,surfing the Internet,going out for a walk with my friends in Pendik or Kadıköy,going to the cinema ...When I and my friends go somewhere,we take our photos.I really love them ..

Hereke Carpets are famous in all around the world!

Hereke is located at the northern edge of İzmit Bay near İstanbul. Hereke is recognized for the finest hand knotted carpets in the world. Hereke designs weren't inspired by the motifs and compositions of traditional Turkish carpets, but also by motifs of Persia and Mameluke Egypt. Fine Hereke hand knotted carpets were presented as gifts to the royal families of Japan, Russia, Germany and England. The materials used are silk, a combination of wool and cotton and sometimes gold or silver threads. The Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid I founded Hereke Imperial Manufacture in 1841 to produce all the textiles for his Dolmabahce Palace on the Marmara Sea...

My name is Melanie and I’m 14 years old. I was born and live in Barcelona and I also have family in Andalucia.

I have brown hair and brown eyes, but when it is sunny they get green. I’m not very tall and it sometimes makes me seem to be smaller. I think I’m discrete, very shy and a nervous person, though people think I’m calm, but when they meet me, they change their opinion. I like listening to and helping my friends when they have a problem.

I have many hobbies, but I LOVE everything related to music. I like singing and dancing much, but I don’t like doing it when I’m in front of people, because I’m a shy person as I said before. I also like going out with my friends and another thing that I like much is taking photos and editing them with different programs.

Mònica's favourite place in Barcelona

My favourite place in Barcelona is the seafront promenade that goes from the Forum to the Barceloneta. It is a cycling or walking lane of about 7 or 8 Km which links the most modern district in Barcelona, the one of the expensive skyscrapers, to the traditional area of la Barceloneta with its old taverns, tapas bars and seafood restaurants.

I love going there for a ride by bike either on sunny winter mornings or summer evenings. Being by the sea, listening to the sound of the waves and feeling the sea breeze is a relaxing experience that helps me to recover my energies whenever I feel tired or overworked. I also like the people who gather there. From the elderly who enjoy the peacefulness of their retirement to the young skaters who practise by the beach, you can see the promenade is a place for everyone who needs to be in the open air, enjoying the warmth of the sunlight.

My name is Mònica and I’m a teacher of English at the secondary school IES Sant Andreu in Barcelona. It’s my fifth year teaching at this school. I also teach an optional subject called “European Exchanges”. This is why we have created this blog in order to make friends beyond the walls of the classroom.

I live with my partner in the centre of Barcelona. At the moment, I live in an area called Gràcia. However, I’m about to move to the “Eixample”. There, buildings are more than a hundred years old and the street blocks are totally square. It is a very emblematic area of the city which was designed by Ildefons Cerdà, a famous urbanist in the 19th Century.

I’m rather shy, I don’t like speaking in public –though I’m a teacher-, I like both being alone or with people depending on the circumstances and my students would tell you I’m quite demanding at school.

I’ve got quite a lot of hobbies, among them reading, going to the cinema, meeting my friends, surfing the Internet etc but, most of all I enjoy travelling and photography. This is why I’m quite addicted to Flickr where I upload and share pictures with a group of friends.

In the mosaic, you’ll find a few of my pictures. All of them are important to me: a picture of the Mediterranean sea, nice landscapes I've seen, people I’ve met when travelling, my favourite portraits, my books, my partner and also my  favourite sights in BCN: Passeig de Gràcia, the Park Güell by Gaudí and the Agbar Tower by Jean Nouvel.
