Autumn

Autumn starts on 23rd September until 21st December.

In autumn the leaves fall on the floor to feed the trees the next spring.

The Spanish costum is eating chestnuts cooked on the fire.

Autumn is a cool season. The autumn begins with the equinox and finishes with the solstice giving way to winter.

Autumn is the season of the sunflower and corn crops.

In autumn one hour is advanced because the night arrivers soon.

Autumn is the season of mushrooms, very important food in Spain.

Celebrations

In Catalonia, we celebrate the arrival of summer on 24th of June. At night we meet our family for dinner.

When we finish, we eat coke and drink champagne and we throw firecrackers and fireworks and do bonfires in the street. It's the longest night, and it is the night of Sant Joan (Saint John).

Hobbies

In summer we go to differents places because we have holidays, and it is hot! We go to the beach, the swimming-pool, the river, we have BBQ with the family or friends.

Adolescents' activities

We go to the beach at night, we go to the disco, we go out at night, and meet friends...

Christmas day

The Christmas day is an International religious celebration. As everywhere, we celebrate it on 25th of December, for Jesus birth. In the morning we open the presents and later we meet the family for lunch. We cook stuffed chicken, soup, crumbs…according to taste. We think that it’s a special day to spend with the family.

New Year’s Eve

We celebrate the New Year’s Eve on 31st of December.

We meet the family for dinner. At 23:59, the family is ready to eat twelve grapes together with the twelve strokes ot the clock(we watch the strokes on TV). After that we drink champagne and we start the New Year with the family and a party!
